Permalac Original, Permalac EF, Permalac NT, and Permalac 2K can also be tinted with our line of translucent tints. These tints come in 7 colors: gold, copper, yellow, red, black, violet, and blue. These tints are colorfast, will not fade, and can be mixed to make a custom patina. Tints can be mixed between 1:15 (tint to lacquer) and 1:30 ratios to yield the best results.
- Obtaining a transparent “blackener” effect: To mimic a blackened steel effect, add about 5% of Peacock Black Tint v/v to the Permalac. This approximates to 6.4 fluid ounces of tint for every 128 fluid ounces of Permalac OR 1 mL of black tint for very 19 mL of Permalac.
